Dr. Jeni Dulek is an occupational therapist, educator, and lifelong learner. She is a founding member and former Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at American Career College in Anaheim, California, and is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Occupational Therapy at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Jeni received her Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Puget Sound in 2000, her post-professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy with an emphasis in Education from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2015, and completed her Masters in Instructional Design and Technology at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2019. Jeni practiced as an occupational therapist in a variety of psychosocial settings for fourteen years prior to moving to full-time teaching roles in 2014. She brings her experiences in practice to the classroom in many ways as she uses real-world examples and stories to illustrate lessons for students, and also as she seeks to understand how students' personal experiences and beliefs impact their learning and growth as professionals. Jeni sees herself as a lifelong learner and endeavors to inspire a similar mindset in her students. After her long professional practice she obtained her post-professional doctorate, and when she determined a need for further skill in instructional design in her teaching, began pursuit of a degree meeting this need. She prides herself on delivering well-designed online and face-to-face instruction with a focus on inspiring others to deliver client-centered, occupation-based therapy through creativity, networking, and professional development. She is especially proud of feedback she recently received from a student, who said, "I would not love OT as much as I do if it were not for you." |
